New Mars Chopper Design Unveiled by NASA

Exploring the Challenges

Operating in such an environment presents significant challenges. Specifically, the low atmospheric density requires any aerial vehicle to generate more lift and power than would be necessary on Earth. Ingenuity’s rotor system was specially designed, featuring four blades that must rotate quickly to achieve lift.
